A man suspected of throwing packages over a wall at an Indiana State Prison in LaPorte County has been arrested.

Madison Kent, 26, of Michigan City, was spotted throwing two cup-shaped containers over a wall near Tower #8, according to police.

The containers contained twelve mini-cell phones, four cell phone batteries, and USB cords and related pieces of technology. There was also a package of rolling papers, four bags of loose leaf tobacco, and a bag with a small amount of “a leafy green substance.”

Kent was booked into LaPorte County Jail on a felony trafficking charge.

He faces up to 8 years and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
