Brief lockdowns at two separate schools on Friday

A tip received by Michigan’s OK2Say system resulted in a person being taken into custody in Van Buren County.

Hartford Public Schools were under a short lockdown on Friday morning, Dec. 14, as a result of the tip and the subsequent investigation.

Sheriff’s deputies took the suspect into custody without incident or injury and have not revealed any information about the reported threat.

Also, Corpus Christi Catholic School in South Bend was on a brief lockdown on Friday morning, as well, as police sought a fugitive who was in the area on foot.
