Man, 35, shot at New Year’s house party in Benton Harbor

A man was rushed into surgery after he was shot at a house party in Benton Harbor.

The shooting happened on Tuesday, Jan. 1, in the 100 block of Apple Street.

Officers found the 35-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived. He was taken to Lakeland Medical Center for treatment.

Officers learned that the shooting was the result of an unknown argument between the victim and an unidentified male. The male subject shot the victim and left the scene.

The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety is looking for the identity of the shooter and other witnesses.
