There’s a special ceremony for the South Bend Fire Department at their memorial at Seitz Park.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
The department and their local union will perform a ceremony of rest and honors.
They are temporarily shutting down the memorial and storing it while construction gets underway at the park.
South Bend Fire Departments Honor and Color Guard Team will lower the flag and perform the resting ceremony for memorial which currently sits on point at the start of the East Race Waterway. The following South Bend Firefighters answered their call on the Last Alarm; Edwin Martin, Stanislaw Duszynski, Camiel De Vleeschower, John Howard, August Horvath, Anthony Miller, Eugene Rozwarski and Richard Brekrus.
