South Bend’s Lisa De’Berry wants to be the next St. Joseph County Democratic Chair

A community organizer from South Bend has announced her candidacy for the St. Joseph County Democratic Party Chair.

Lisa De’Berry is a long-time resident of the city’s West Side and widely known for her advocacy work in the community, pushing for childcare options for low-income mothers. She also worked on voter registration and eduication during the recent midterm elections and helped provide transportation for nearly 100 voters to help them get to the polls.

St. Joseph County Democratic Party Chairman Jason Critchlow has stepped down as he considers a possible run for Mayor of South Bend.
