Bonaventura named Chief of Staff under Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill returns to his desk following a news conference at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, Monday, July 9, 2018. Hill is rejecting calls to resign, saying his name "has been dragged through the gutter" amid allegations that he inappropriately touched a lawmaker and several other women. Attorney General Curtis Hill’s newly-named Chief of Staff is the same person who created waves after she spoke critically of the state’s mismanagement of the Indiana Department of Child Services after leading that agency.

Mary Beth Bonaventura first joined Hill’s staff in 2018 as special counsel.

Bonaventura was appointed lead the DCS in 2013 by former Governor Mike Pence.

In late 2017, she wrote stinging letter of resignation to Governor Eric Holcomb.
