A Wabash man is in custody after allegedly depriving an auto parts store of nearly $14,000 in income.

25-year-old Christopher Hawkins was a manager at Carquest Auto Parts Store when Indiana State Police investigators say he would discount things he was buying for himself well below the standard discount for store employees.

He also allegedly discounted auto parts, at least 262 transactions, to customers who were not authorized to have items discounted.

Hawkins is also alleged to have reduced the amount owed on his store accounts to zero and had auto parts shipped to his residence which were paid for by Carquest. State troopers say he was not authorized to do either of those things.

Hawkins was arrested and taken to the Wabash County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond. He faces felony charges for theft and corrupt business influence.
