The man found dead along State Road 119 on Friday, March 8, has been identified as a Nappanee resident.
The body of Matthew Dean Powell, 29, was found Friday, March 8, 2019, in a rural area south of County Road 36 and east of State Road 119.
An autopsy was performed on Saturday by a forensic pathologist, at which representatives of the Elkhart County Homicide Unit and the Elkhart County Coroner’s Office were present.
The cause of his death was not determined.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding how he died is ongoing.
