Inmate dies of an overdose at Kosciusko County Jail

An inmate died of an apparent overdose at the Kosciusko County Jail over the weekend.

Officials say Dennis Edward McCrory, 39, was found unconscious in his cell around 8 p.m. by jail officers.

CPR was performed and six doses of Narcan were administered. McCrory was transported to Fort Wayne for further medical attention but was declared deceased shortly before 5 a.m. on Sunday.

The results of a criminal investigation and a police report have been turned over to the prosecutor’s office for review. There is no word of any possible criminal charges at this time, and more information is expected later. Another inmate is suspected in connection with the death.
