A Jones, Michigan woman was transported to Elkhart General Hospital after she drove her jeep into Simonton Lake.

The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17.

The woman experienced a medical problem and lost control of the vehicle while driving on State Road 19 near North Shore Drive, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The 48 year-old drove down an embankment and ended up with her vehicle partially submerged in the lake.

She was unconscious and not breathing when she was pulled from the water.
