Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s 2020 exploratory committee raised more than $7,000,000 since the beginning of the year.

The first quarter numbers show that his committee, which was announced on January 23, has had strong support from Democrats. Their first financial reporting period ended at midnight on Monday.

Buttigieg, who has been on a book tour and testing the waters of possible interest in his candidacy across the country, has made the most of his numerous media appearances and skyrocketed into the serious conversation among 2020 hopefuls, it could be argued. That includes a recent third-place finish among possible candidates in an Iowa Caucus poll.
