Beef Recall for certain bulk patties sent to food service locations

Label of the recalled product (USDA)

AdvancePierre Foods, Inc. has recalled more than 20,000 pounds of ready-to-eat beef product because it may be contaminated with soft purple plastic.

The company’s flame broiled beef patties were produced Nov. 30, 2018, and may still be in freezers for food services. The patties come in a 14.06-pound case of three bags of 30 patties each. The label reads “NC FULLY COOKED FLAMEBROILED BEEF PATTIES CARAMEL COLOR ADDED.”

The patties were sent to food service locations nationwide, including some schools.

Two consumers complained about finding plastic in the patties. There have not been any reported adverse reactions to eating the patties.

Consumers with questions about the recall should call AdvancePierre’s Consumer Affairs Hotline at 855-382-3101.
