The Grotto and the Basilica of The Sacred Heart at The University of Notre Dame will benefit from beautification projects this summer.
The paths and entryways will be renovated after the May 20 Commencement ceremony.
The Notre Dame Observer reports that the courtyard in front of the Grotto and the Basilica’s main entrance will be inacessible for a portion of the summer in order to complete the work before the fall semester.
New stone and brick will be put into place, along with new memorial benches at the Grotto, a small turn-around driveway at the Basilica, and improvements that will make both sites more wheelchair-accessible.
