Five people have now been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of Traychon Taylor, 19, last weekend.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office released the following information:
St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit investigators have arrested three additional individuals in connection with the investigation into the April 28, 2019, shooting of Traychon R. Taylor.
- Atlantis Jay Branch, 17, is charged in a three count information with: Felony Murder; Attempted Robbery, a Level 5 felony; and a Firearm Sentencing Enhancement.
- Jeremiah Jerome Williams, 19, is charged in a two count information with: Felony
Murder; and Attempted Robbery, a Level 5 felony. - Joe Nelson III, 31, is charged with Attempted Robbery, a Level 5 felony
As released earlier, two other individuals were previously arrested in connection with
this investigation.
- Kyle Doroszko, 18, was arrested on April 30, 2019, and booked into the St. Joseph
County Jail. The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office charged Doroszko with Murder and a Firearm Sentencing Enhancement. - A 17 year old was arrested and detained at the Juvenile Justice Center on
preliminary suspicion of Assisting a Criminal, which would be a Level 5 Felony if
committed by an adult. He was ordered detained. However, the matter is also under
prosecutorial review and no delinquency petition has been filed against this
juvenile at the issuance of this release.
At approximately 9:56 p.m. on April 28, the South Bend Police Department received a ShotSpotter notification and a report of gunshots fired in the 500 block of N. William St. Officers were dispatched to the area and located Traychon Taylor, 19, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where he passed away on April 30.
After an autopsy, a forensic pathologist determined his cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death to be homicide.
