Police in Elkhart are looking into a possible abduction attempt of a teenage girl.

The 15 year-old told police a man in a dark-colored SUV grabbed her book bag and attempted to abduct her as she was walking to school around 8 a.m. on Monday, May 6.

She said it happened near the intersection of Superior Street and Kenwood Avenue.

The girl described the suspect as about 5 ’10” with a stocky build.

She said another car was approaching, so he released his grip on her bag and drove away. Neighbors have provided surveillance video to the police.
