Man shot early Sunday morning on South Michigan Street in South Bend

The South Bend Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of S. Michigan around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 12.

When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old man with apparent non life threatening wounds to the foot and upper leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Through the initial investigation, officers learned there was a house party that had ended when two males arrived with one asking if the party was still taking place. When told it was over, the second male shot at the house.

The suspect who fired the shots is described as black, possibly in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a blue hoodie covering his face.

The other suspect is described as black, possibly in late teens to early 20s wearing a red hoodie.
