The South Bend man at the center of an Amber Alert that was declared on Tuesday morning, May 21, has been arrested.

Police said the sisters, who are 1 and 6 years of age, were found safe and unharmed shortly after the Silver Alert was declared. But their father Adam Rushing remained a fugitive.

On Wednesday morning police said Rushing was arrested on strangulation, criminal confinement, and intimidation.

An adult woman was also taken for medical treatment before released, but her connection to the case hasn’t been fully explained.
