Unemployment rate drops further in St. Joseph, Elkhart Counties

The jobless rate in both St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties has dropped significantly according to the latest data.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development figures shows a 3.2% unemployment rate for the month of April in St. Joseph County, down from 4% in March.

In Elkhart, it’s 2.6%, down from 3.2% in March.

Kosciusko County has the sixth-lowest rate in the state at 2.3%.

Overall, the statewide jobless rate held at 3.6% in April.
