Woman injured in accidental shooting

A woman was injured Sunday afternoon in a shooting that has been determined to have been accidental and self-inflicted.

South Bend Police say they responded to a report of a woman shot at a home in the 200 block of South Iowa Street around 4 PM Sunday.

No one was found at that location but a short time later they were informed that a woman had arrived at a local hospital with a wound to her stomach.

She was still in the hospital Monday morning with what was described as a serious but non-life-threatening injury.
