Inmate from South Bend dies at Miami Correctional Facility

The Indiana State Police are investigating the death of a prisoner from South Bend at the Miami Correctional Facility near Bunker Hill.

The State Police have initiated an investigation at the request of the facility. 70 year-old Lannie Morgan was found unresponsive in his cell Monday morning around 9:30 a.m.

An ambulance was called but he was deceased before it arrived.

The results of an autopsy are still pending. Foul play is suspected and the death is being treated as a homicide.
