A lot of changes are in store for a playground at Howard Park in South Bend.
WSBT reports that the park will receive a 30 thousand-dollar grant for improvements, including a 13 thousand square foot, state-of-the-art ADA-accessible facility that will sit under a looped ice skating trail.
The grant comes from the National Recreation and Park Association, and the Walt Disney Company.
The park will be modeled after the St. Joe River, and will be the “largest playground in the region” according to the city’s Venues & Parks Department.
Much of the work should be done by Thanksgiving.
