A Three Rivers woman died Thursday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Elkhart County.

Deputies say 38 year-old Melody Griffith was driving north on State Road 15, just north of US 20, when her jeep ran over the median and she was ejected from the vehicle, shortly before 5:30 a.m.

The Jeep hit the cement barrier and she suffered a fatal head injury. There were no other passengers and no other vehicles were involved.

Officials say Griffith was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
