Thursday, June 27, will be an Air Quality Action Day in parts of Michiana.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is forecasting high ozone levels for Thursday in LaPorte, St. Joseph, and Elkhart Counties. Other parts of Northern Indiana are covered, as well.

The department encourages Hoosiers to helkp reduce ozone by doing things like avoiding drive-thrus, biking or carpooling, using public transportation, and conserving energy at home.

The department also recommends not using gas-powered lawn equipment until after 7 p.m.
