A motorcyclist was injured after colliding with a garbage truck in LaPorte on Thursday.

It happened around 8:30 at C and 7th Streets. A passenger in the truck said the motorcyclist slammed into the side of the truck, and they slammed on their brakes to get out and offer the rider some help.

The man on the motorcycle was said to be bleeding from the head but was coherent when taken to a hospital. The crash is still under investigation.
