Teachers will ride for free next week on the South Shore Line.

The train line will offering free rides for teachers from July 15 through the 21 on weekend and off-peak weekday trains.

There’s also an essay contest giving teachers a chance to win free transportation for a field trip with their class.

In order to ride for free during the week on the selected routes, teachers will need to present a valid school ID.

Off-peak weekday trains arrive at Millennium Station after 9:30 am Central and depart Millennium Station before 3:30 pm and after 6:30 pm.
