Man, 30, shot on W. Kenwood Street in South Bend

The South Bend Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, in the area of the 2200 block of W Kenwood.

Patrol officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation of shots fired. While officers were on scene, they were notified around 5:45 p.m. of a walk in shooting victim at the hospital with a wound to the face. The victim, a 30 year old man, was treated for a non life threatening injury.

Through the initial investigation, it was reported the victim was walking in the area and when he reports being shot at by an unknown person. The victim then reported being shot and was taken to the hospital.

The South Bend Police Investigative Bureau continue to investigate and conduct interviews.
