Unemployment rate goes up in some local cities

The latest workforce numbers have been released for cities and counties in Indiana.

In St. Joeseph County the labor force added more than 1,000 in June compared to the month before, and sits at just under 139,000.

133,920 people are employed in the county, for an unemployment rate of 3.6%.

The rate in South Bend-Mishawaka was 3.9%, up from 3.3% in May.

Elkhart County added more than 2,000 to the labor force for a total of 118,602.

More than 115,000 were employed and the unemployment rate was 3.0%, up slightly from May.

The rate for Elkhart and Goshen was up slightly at 3.0%.
