Three members of Elkhart’s Weaver family died in a July plane crash

Three members of an Elkhart-based family have been identified as victims in a plane crash that happened last month in Canada.

WSBT is reporting that 66-year-old John Weaver the Second of Chicago and his sons 40-year-old John Weaver the Third of South Bend and 38-year-old Matthew Weaver of Chicago, died in the July 15 crash in the Canadian Province of Labrador.

Seven people were on the floatplane that went down in a remote lake during a fishing trip. The elder Weaver was the son of former Elkhart Mayor John Weaver.
