Crime Stoppers, Integra to host shredding event on Saturday

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

If you have important documents that need to be destroyed, your next chance to do that is set for this coming weekend.

Michiana Crime Stoppers is hosting another shredding event, with the help of workers from Integra Certified Document Destruction.

It’s taking place from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at McKinley Commons, the shopping center with the new Big Lots store at the corner of Grape and McKinley in Mishawaka.

While Crime Stoppers is asking for a $10 minimum donation, anybody with a large volume of documents to be destroyed is encouraged to offer a more generous donation.

In exchange, Integra will destroy the documents on site. They can even destroy computer CDs. There is no need to remove staples or rubber bands.

Cash and checks made out to Crime Stoppers will be accepted. Now we are able to take credit cards, too. Or, a donor may go online to MichianaCrimeStoppers.com and submit their donation using PayPal, then bring the printed receipt with them.

Donations and funds raised go directly toward paying rewards for information leading to the arrest of felony offenders in OUR community. Michiana Crime Stoppers began in 1983 and has paid out more than $1 million in rewards.
