Warrant issued for suspect in Niles shooting

A felony warrant has been issued for a man who Niles Police believe pulled the trigger, injuring another man this past weekend.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, in the 600 block of Wayne Street.

An investigation found at least two gunshots happened inside a vehicle. The 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital where his condition was stabalized.

Three others inside the car took off on foot.

A felony warrant was issued for 21-year-old Dayshawn Lavell Smith of Niles. Two other suspects have been identified.
