Kroger Employee Arrested for Stealing Nearly $180k

An employee accused of stealing from the Kroger in Goshen is behind bars

59 year old Kevin Escobedo told police that the money he stole helped to pay bills–because the money he made from working went to fuel a cocaine addiction. Its no small sum, as Escobedo is accused of stealing nearly $170,000 over the last two years.

The Goshen News reports that he worked in the stores cash office, and had access to their safe. He told police that he would take about $500 at a time. He has confessed to the thefts, and now faces a Level 5 Felony Theft charge.

He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
