Two women arrested on meth-related charges in Dowagiac

A traffic stop resulted in the arrests of two women on meth-related charges in Dowagiac.

The traffic stop happened around 11:40 p.m. on Monday, Sep. 2, on N. Front Street. near E. Division St. as Dowagiac Police stopped a driver for driving without headlights after dark.

After speaking with the occupants, Police K9 Tole sniffed the exterior of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located a quantity of meth and meth paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The women arrested were 31 and 36 years old. Both are from Dowagiac.

They were taken to the Cass County Jail on a preliminary charge of possession of meth.
