Three Rivers schools put on lockdown following reports of man with gun

Three Rivers High School and Three Rivers Middle School were both placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after reports of a man with a gun in the area.

ABC 57 reports police received a call about a pedestrian carrying a shotgun near the high school in the area of Jefferson Street and 6th Avenue.

According to police, the man was found on Wood Street and was not deemed as a threat to the school. He was legally carrying a cased and unloaded firearm.

The schools were put on lockdown as a precaution, but the lockdowns were quickly lifted after police briefed school officials on the situation.
