Three Rivers High School and Three Rivers Middle School were both placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after reports of a man with a gun in the area.

ABC 57 reports police received a call about a pedestrian carrying a shotgun near the high school in the area of Jefferson Street and 6th Avenue.

According to police, the man was found on Wood Street and was not deemed as a threat to the school. He was legally carrying a cased and unloaded firearm.

The schools were put on lockdown as a precaution, but the lockdowns were quickly lifted after police briefed school officials on the situation.
