A body was discovered in the St. Joseph River in Elkhart.

The male body was found around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 10, on the north side of the river near Lexington Avenue and Vine Street.

Elkhart Police officers, along with members of the Elkhart Fire Department, were called to the scene.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
