The collision happened on Thursday evening, Oct. 3.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office said the call came in just before 6:30 p.m. for the incident that happened along County Road 800 West, northwest of Hoffman Lake. A witness on scene, who called 911, said the tanker drifted off the road and over-corrected, causing the rig to roll.

The witness stated after the tanker rolled, it burst into flames, catching fire to adjacent farm fields. The smoke could be seen high in the sky, and as far away as Bremen.

Cleanup continued into Friday morning.
