A Denver, Colorado, woman died after being struck by an SUV in South bend.

The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, on South Bend Avenue just southwest of the intersection with Edison.

The victim, Hannah Kathleen Turgeon, 27, was crossing South Bend Avenue eastbound. The vehicle was traveling southwest on South Bend Avenue, and did not stop after striking the woman.

Turgeon was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend where she was pronounced dead.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a larger, dark-colored SUV.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team was activated to investigate.
