A South Bend woman was killed and a second person critically injured in a crash on U.S. 30. It happened Tuesday afternoon near Plymouth-Goshen Trail. Investigators say it appears the vehicle the two were in pulled in front of a semi, which struck the car, causing it to flip and land in the median.

The woman who died is identified as 44-year-old Dorcuas Figueroa. A dog was also inside the car and is being cared for at the Marshall County Humane Society.

We were almost killed at this light. We were in front of a semi and if my husband had not looked in hid rear view mirror and seen he was not going to stop and swerved to the right turning lane which if there would have been a car there we would have been dead. The semi did not slow down. Where are the police officers on this highway. Something needs to be done with the semis on this road.

It says the car pulled out in front of the semi, So it wasn’t the Semis fault. There are bad drivers no matter what they are driving.
