The YMCA of Greater Michiana has received approval for it’s new downtown South Bend location.

The South Bend Redevelopment Commission has approved the lease of the third and fourth floors of the Leighton Healthplex building at 111 W. Jefferson Blvd. to the YMCA of Greater Michiana.

The space is currently occupied by Beacon Health and Fitness. “The Y” says they will extend a complimentary membership to current Beacon members with no join fee and no dues until their grand opening.

“The Y” will lease the Jefferson Boulevard location rent-free through 2032 in exchange for transferring ownership of its Northside Blvd. property to the city at no cost.
