A New Buffalo Police car was struck during a police chase.

The pursuit happened on Tuesday night, Oct. 15, along U.S. 12 near the state line.

Police began following the vehicle, which they say was being driven erratically by a 46-year-old Michigan City man.

They followed him until the wreck, which happened at U.S. 12 near Whittaker Street in New Buffalo.

Investigators said the man was not compliant.

During their encounter, officers leaved the man’s blood sugar was low. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

The case is being sent to the prosecutor for review.
