New transportation study underway in South Bend

The City of South Bend has entered into a partnership with local businesses to create Commuters Trust.

It’s a transportation benefit program supported by a $1 million, three-year grant through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge. It will provide local employers with more options for getting to and from work, and will test systems designed to resolve transportation issues.

The first phase of the multi-year project was launched last month, and involved Transpo and Lyft discounts.
