Michigan consumers facing liquor shortage

Michigan is in the throes of a party drought.

An alcohol shortage has struck thousands of party stores across the state, heading into the holiday season.

One of Michigan’s three largest liquor distributors, Republic National, is apologizing for a delay in orders affecting more than 13,000 retailers.

The company blames issues ranging from a recent move from two distribution sites to a single facility, bad weather, and assorted computer problems.
