Michigan names new Director of elections

Michigan’s Secretary of State has named a new Director of the state’s Bureau of Elections.

Jonathan Brater will take over on January 2nd, replacing current director Sally Williams, who is retiring.

Brater has focused on state elections for much of the past year in his role as the Department of State’s Legal Policy Director. He also has extensive experience with elections on a national level from his previous work as counsel for the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program.
