Grandfather of 18-month-old who fell from cruise ship window speaks out

The Michiana man accused of negligent homicide in the death of his granddaughter, Chloe Wiegand, who fell from a cruise ship window and died after she slipped from his hold says he is colorblind, and that may be why he didn’t realize the window as open.

Salvatore Sam Anello spoke in an exclusive interview with CBS News.

Wiegand fell 150 fet from an open window onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in July.

Puerto Rican prosecutors have charged Anello with negligent homicide, despite the family’s wishes not to pursue charges,

Chloe’s parents plan to file suit against Royal Caribbean before the end of the year, CBS News reported.
