An Illinois man was arrested after a police chase that ended in LaPorte County.

The chase began shortly after midnight, Saturday morning, when a deputy pulled over a vehicle that committed two traffic violations while headed south on US 35.

As the officer approached the car, the driver took off. The chase ended near Pine Lake and State Road 2 thanks to stop sticks.

The driver was found to be in possession of a large amount of marijuana and faces a number of charges.
