Buttigieg reacts to the protest at a support event in South Bend

Mayor Pete Buttigieg is criticizing the incident at a gathering of supporters Wednesday who are African American leaders in the city.

A protester in a Black Lives Matter shirt interrupted the proceedings by grabbing the microphone while Common Council Member Sharon McBride was speaking.

Buttigieg said Thursday “It shows kind of where politics has come to” and added “this is the climate we’re in and we need to continue making sure everyone is empowered to speak their truth.” He said that’s particularly important in South Bend.

Buttigieg was not present at the event, which was organized with the help of his presidential campaign.

Not sure what he meant with your report. If that’s all he said regarding this chaos and dangerous situation, it lacks any real response.
Several questions come to my mind after reading your report. Is the quotes the only thing Pete said? If more was said, where can we read the full version?
