S.W.A.T. standoff in Elkhart County ends with arrest

A S.W.A.T. standoff in Elkhart County ended with the arrest of a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for armed robbery.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s Deputies were called around 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 to the area of U.S. 33 and County Road 13 where they saw Daniel Jaramillo, 31, of Elkhart, fleeing across U.S. 33 into a relative’s home.

The Elkhart County Regional S.W.A.T. Team was called to the scene to assist after several unsuccessful attempts to call Jaramillo out of the home.

Jaramillo attempted to flee the residence, however, was taken into custody on the warrant.

He is being held at the Elkhart County Corrections Complex for the warrant. Additional criminal charges are pending.
