Blood donations are down to a trickle at the South Bend Medical Foundation

(Tom Franklin/95.3 MNC)

The South Bend Medical Foundation is asking you to give the gift of life for the holidays.

All blood types are needed, but there is an urgent need for Type O donors, as well as platelet donors.

A strong flu season, cold weather, and the holidays have taken their toll on recent donations, but the need is still there.

Donors in the month of December at the South Bend Medical Foundation will also receive a voucher for a free turkey.

I have NO love nor respect for the SBMF. Years ago I REGULARLY donated as often as allowed. But then they said that I tested positive for Hepatitis C and could no longer donate. FACT – I was tested and PROVEN that I NEVER had Hepatitis of ANY form, but they STILL won’t let me donate. I’m blood type 0-; the universal donor!!
