South Bend man charged in connection with bank robbery, cigarette store heist

A South Bend man has been charged in connection with a bank robbery and a heist at a cigarette shop in Mishawaka.

Armand White, 32, was charged in federal court with robbery, bank robbery, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The store and bank were robbed, last month, by two men in ski masks.

On two separate occasions, the robbers allegedly entered the establishments, displayed handguns and demanded money from employees. The suspects obtained $500 in cash and cigarettes from the cigarette store. They also stole $6500 from the bank.

White was convicted in 2009 of two bank robberies in South Bend. He is currently on federal supervised release.

During the search of his his home, federal agents found multiple firearms.
