The South Bend Fire Department will have several fire companies in the Oliver Gateway neighborhood this Thursday and Friday afternoon.

They’ll be working with the American Red Cross to make sure each house has three working smoke alarms, and if needed will install them for free.

The neighborhood covers the area between Sample, the Grand Trunk Railroad, and Arnold Streets.

Residents are encouraged to call the South Bend Fire Department at 235-9255 for further information.
