The Indiana State Police say they will be increasing their patrols over the holidays again this year.

With millions of Americans expected to travel on the country’s highways in the last two weeks of the year, State Police officials here at The Crossroads of America say they will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E.

That’s the Combined Accident Reduction Effort, a federally-funded program happening nationwide from December 22 to January 2. It’s an effort to find aggressive, fatigued and impaired drivers.

The 2019 holiday travel season is expected to be the biggest in two decades.
